Hello readers! Happy New year & welcome to 2017 eeek ..I hope you have all had an amazing start to the year. Set those goals and have started working towards them. It’s been a while since the last post but I am back with some fun high street fashion buys. has done it again… I really feel last year Zara stepped up there game. I mean i’ve always been a massive fan of there chic and sophisticated look but in 2016 they took a risk and dived into some other styles that aren’t the usual ‘Zara brand’ look and I have to say they hit the nail on the head.

Lets start with this absolute stunner of a jacket! I know I say this a lot but I am truly in love with this piece. Not only is it a statement leather jacket, that is sure to grab everyone’s eye as you strut down the street but the attention to detail and the quality is just great! There should be a warning sign though for this jacket, as it is sooo heavy but hey nothing like feeling the weight, who needs the gym when you can have style fitness hehe!

Christmas may be over but that doesn’t stop us wanting to wear all things sparkly and red! These knee highs boots give me lifeeee. Those of you that have read my other blogs will know how much I rate Public Desire shoes. Comfy, fitting and just straight fabulous. Although, lately I have realised there shoe size’s have changed. I’m a size 4 and this is what I usually buy, however recently they seem to be very big so I now purchase a Size 3 from Public Desire. TIP: Be sure to check the size guide and check the European size too not just the UK.

For this outfit I Paired the main piece (the jacket) with a cute jumper dress from Missguided. I really feel you can change an outfit’s look just by the choice of jacket and attention to accessories. Here I decided to leave out a necklace and bracelet, as the outfit has quite a lot going on itself. Instead, I simply went with a small faced watch and some pandora rings. Simple, Yet effective. REMEMBER: attention to small details! I believe this look is great for a winter drink with friends, a house party or even a day date!

My Gluten Allergy Story

This week I thought i’d take a break from talking about music and fashion, to tell you all about my other love, FOOD! Here is my story and the struggles I’ve faced over the years.

My whole life I have been in love with cake. When I say cake I literally mean any kind of food that falls under the dessert category. Could even say I was a bit crazy about pastry too! A nice fresh out the oven sausage roll from Greg’s hmmm I can almost smell them now. Maybe my overdoes of Gluten Daily is what has made me Allergic now, who knows right? Having a slice of cake for breakfast, lunch and after dinner probably wasn’t the healthiest option for many reasons.

About 7 years ago, I started feeling really sick and bloated after every meal know matter what it was. It even got to the point where I stopped going out some nights because the pain and discomfort was so bad. I tried every home remedy I could find from Renne’s to honey/lemon teas but nothing seemed to be working. At this point I started to really bloat out and going to the toilet became an issue. Again, with research I decided to take it upon myself and began taking laxatives. After a few attempts I started to feel some relief, which then became a daily routine for me to minimise my bloating. At the time i never thought anything of it but I was actually doing more harm to myself. I became addicted and started hiding the tablets from family/friends as I became reliant on them to solve my bloating. After a year of on and off use the laxatives didn’t seem to be working as well as they did before. Throughout the year i’d still get some pains but just thought it was natural because of the tablets. The pains continued and I finally decided to go see a doctor. I wish I went earlier before taking the laxatives because I had actually done more damage to myself by taking them for such a long period of time. The lining of my stomach was inflamed and I was lacking in loads of vitamins as i was flushing out all the vital nutrients we need to stay healthy. The doctor immediately told me to stop taking any form of laxative to resit further damage and I was subscribed iron/Vitamins. They then tested me for acid reflux and gluten intolerance. However, all my results came back negative. Later on after being referred to a specialist dietitian, I was put on the FODMAP diet and we discovered I was Allergic to Gluten. I was confused at this point as it didn’t show up on my blood test results. But as the Dietitian explained to me, just because we may not be gluten intolerant doesn’t mean gluten doesn’t still effect us. By an elimination process we then found out what types of food I can and cannot eat any longer.

It saddens me that I can no longer eat my favourite foods but Gluten intolerance and Gluten Allergies are becoming more common due to the way food is now processed, leaving us all with Allergies towards it. Of course some are effected way more than others but it’s great how supermarkets and some restaurants now have a variety of Gluten Free options helping us to be able to eat some goodies again! They may not taste like the normal cake or freshly soft baked bread BUT I’m grateful we can still have options that are similar. I actually prefer some freefrom foods such as the Freefrom chocolate cookies and the Nairn’s biscuits. Visit the Nairn’s website for more goodies

Here is my 3 ingredient ‘Free From’ Peanut butter cookies: makes 16-17 cookies

  • 1 cup crunchy peanut butter (of your choice)
  • 1 cup caster sugar with extra for coating
  • 1 egg

Pre heat oven at 180°. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Roll into small balls and coat in caster sugar. Place balls onto a lined baking tray at least 3cm apart. Using a damp fork, press into the balls to flatten them into a cookie shape. Place in over and cook for 8-10mins.

They will still be very soft when they come out of the oven. Leave to cool for 10mins and they should harden. Then move onto a cooling tray for a further 5 mins. Then they are ready to be served with a glass of cold milk or tea.

Boux Avenue: It’s what’s Underneath that matters

Ok ladies, i know we all love a pair of Bridget jones knickers but it’s time to get sexy with Boux Avenue. There new Winter range is full of beautiful lace and the warmest Pj’s perfect for a self buy or a gift this Christmas.

I was lucky enough to attend there press event this week with the lovely @freddymylove and I’m happy to say the collection is above and beyond expectation.

Let’s talk Bralets! I feel they have become really popular this year. Out with the uncomfortable wire bra and in with the soft elastic band bra, that just has the most glamorous lace/flower detail finish. Im totally obsessed over these cute sets that Boux Avenue have just launched!

Saying that i know we all need a good push up bra too and Boux Avenue definitely don’t disappoint. I usually find Push up bra’s to be very uncomfortable throughout an evening, however after trying the Boux Avenue range I can safely say I am now converted into a Push up bra lover. The padding is amazingly soft making you feel like you’re not even wearing anything, leaving you feeling comfortable all night.

Here are a few photos from the event and their new collection! Go check out there amazing deals and gifts Asap Christmas isn’t long now eeeeek !!!! Boux Avenue Website

With Christmas on its way and hopefully some snow to make it feel festive, what a better way to keep warm than in some Fur. When I say Fur, of course Faux Fur as we don’t condone animal cruelty. Today’s technology gives Faux Fur the qualities and authentic feel of real Fur, leaving us none the wiser. Remember animal cruelty is never fashionable nor fair. Even big designers like Stella McCartney who are reputable for there ethnical designs incorporate the “Fur Free Fur” attitude.

I’ve taken 3 different types of ‘Fur’ to show you guys how you can style it up this winter.

First up you have the “All Fur Coat”. This is trending right now in the high street market, where you can find a range of different colours and patterned coats that are fully Fur’ed out. This is sure to keep you warm for the winter! For this look we went for a 70s vibe to really appreciate the over sized coat style. The colour of the Fur matched with the creams and burgundy jumpsuit just screams out 70s, which is slowly making its way back in style. Don’t be afraid to mix things up when wearing an all fur coat. They are a statement piece, so you definitely have to wear them with confidence. You can either keep it real simple with block colours, using the coat as an accessory to really make the outfit pop, leaving the coat as the main focus or be a bit more bold and wear a pattern with a fur coat on top to create a vibe unique look.

For the second style we went more for a subtle Fur, keeping the look very chic and cosy. I’m obsessing over long coats this season, as lets face it England is freezinggggg and its only just getting started. I personally think there’s nothing better than a reversed fur coat to help stop you catching that flu. Reversed fur coats simply mean the fur is on the inside, making it one of the warmest thermal coats on the market. A touch of the fur is added on top of the hood to accent the coat, giving it the alaskan eskimo feel, just to tell us it really is meant for cold weather. Keeping the style sophisticated with simple black jeans and a striped shirt, finishing the look off with a pair of comfortable studded boots and black bag to match. This outfit to me really shows less is more sometimes and keeping is causal doesn’t mean you can’t keep it stylish. Key: Paying attention to small details really make an outfit.

Then Lastly we have the Fur scarf. Some people refer to this as a throw over but i like to call it an elegant scarf. Again, like the last two looks, this scarf comes in many different colours and thicknesses. I own another two of these one in black and a long pink one. You may be thinking, how does this little wrap keep you warm? Trust me, they may look small but they know how to keep the heat in around your neck. I would’t recommend wearing just the scarf with an outfit to keep warm as it definitely is more of an accessory. However, it can add to a look as a shoulder wrap, when styled with a dress for a night out. I believe it makes a great addition on top of leather jackets, as you can see in the photos this is how we styled it for this look. When worn around the neck it can transform a plain jacket, automatically making it look more fitting for winter. We paired the scarf with a simple leather jacket, skirt and knee high boots to create an everyday casj/dressy look. Some jackets come with the fur already attached around the collar or you can buy them separately so that you can mix and match the colour depending on what the outfit is.

This year Chokers have taken over the fashion market with a storm. From simple one strap sheer chokers to diamond ones, they are booming. I am such a fan of Chokers, just because i feel they can change the look of a whole outfit instantly making it look more edgy yet chic.

This fashion statement started way back in the 1990s and has recently resurfaced. You literally can turn anything into a choker these days. I have taken old shoe laces, Headbands and even cut up belts to create a unique choker. But if you’d rather not cut up things you own LOL just in case it goes wrong, you can buy them at so many different stores and online sites now. So it is not difficult to get your hands on one.

This month Aurum sent me 3 from there new collection and I have to confess I am totally in love. They are so cute and stylish and are neutral colours, which makes it so easy to pair up with my outfits. If you’re looking for great quality and affordable chokers then Aurum is the place to go!!

Check them out on Instagram and give them a follow

With freshers and holidays all coming to an end, it’s time to get back to work and there’s no better way, than doing it with style.

Want to look sassy and classy all at the same time then Valuable Vanity have what you need. This week I teamed up with the new french brand, accessorising with there Tote daisy bag and wearing there white Loafers to complete my back to uni/school look.

I matched the loafers with a tartan skirt and black shirt. I finished off the look with a pair of thin tight socks, which i rolled down. Not forgetting my cute tote bag, which is the perfect medium size to fit all essentials for the day.
